Bringing you up to date on my journey.
The healthy eating plan has been going pretty darn good. As I enter into week 3 I do find myself craving some “hearty food” After consuming more vegetables in the past 2 weeks than I have in probably my entire life I am wanting heavy, chewy, sink your teeth into kind of food. Since I haven’t been eating much starch I’m guessing that is why. So I will start adding some healthy starches to my meals.
Here are a few things I have noticed on this plan.
I am basically satisfied. sure I have an occasional craving but it is usually because I am bored or wanting some emotional connection.
It has taken me a little while to get used to all the fiber. (I don’t think i need to elaborate) The key was to drink more water.
The last thing is, I have to plan. There is no way around it. I have to think about foods and how I can prepare them to make them tasty. I have to prep my veggies so they are easy to get to. I need to have what I am choosing to eat on hand and semi ready for consumption.
Yes it takes a little work but it is becoming a habit and I am enjoying the feeling of eating healthy.
On the Coaching front.
The first 2 weeks were surprising as I found myself in a vulnerable state. It was a humbling experience realizing where I was out of balance in my life and what was missing. The great thing is, once you know, you can change. It is refreshing and enlightening to be in the position of being coached as opposed to being the coach. I am learning what is helpful and what is not (from my perspective of course).
Here are a few things I’ve learned so far.
Writing is important. Having a place to write your thoughts, ideas, observations, as well as dump your overwhelm and frustration is essential. Keeping track of the good things, the things that bring you joy, is also important and essential. Basically get used to writing. It free’s up your mind and helps with stress.
An action step is all it takes to set things in motion. Here is one thing I did. I wanted to learn to knit so I looked for a meetup group. There I read about a starter kit that you could purchase on amazon. I ordered it and once it arrived I got started. However, I had a hard time understanding the written directions so I went to youtube where some nice lady showed me how to knit. Look what I’ve done so far!
As far as the business side of things. (which was why I got a coach) there isn’t much to tell. It should be no suprise to me that the personal issues are directly tied to business development and still here I am slapping myself on the head and saying. “duh!” So as I work on the personal stuff I am sure changes will happen in the business.
Stay tuned.
